About the role
We’re looking for a Junior Web Developer to join our team and grow with us. You’ll work on real, production-facing features from day one — building and maintaining Laravel applications, integrating and testing APIs, and working with relational databases. You’ll have close support from senior developers, code reviews on every pull request, and room to take ownership as you gain confidence.
What you’ll do
- Build and maintain web applications using Laravel (PHP)
- Develop, consume and document RESTful APIs
- Write and run tests for API endpoints and application logic
- Design and query relational databases (MySQL / PostgreSQL)
- Debug issues, review code with the team, and ship improvements iteratively
- Collaborate with the team on requirements, estimates and delivery
What we’re looking for
- Working knowledge of PHP and the Laravel framework (Eloquent, routing, middleware, migrations)
- Some hands-on experience with API development and testing — this can be from personal projects, internships or coursework
- Solid SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Comfortable reading documentation and figuring things out independently
- Good written and spoken English
Nice to have
- Experience with PHPUnit or Pest
- Familiarity with Postman, Insomnia or similar API testing tools
- Basic front-end skills (Blade, Tailwind, JavaScript / Vue)
- Exposure to Docker or Linux environments
- Understanding of secure coding basics (input validation, authentication, authorisation)
